Welcome to Suncoast Audiology Hearing Center

The connections people have with friends, family and loved ones are some of the most important aspects in life. That's why it is so important not to let a hearing loss, tinnitus, or a sound sensitivity issue interfere with relationships.

For 29 years, as an audiologist Dr. Kelly Dyson has been helping people hear better. In that time, she has battled her own ear issues, from perforated eardrums to tinnitus. A lifelong sufferer of tinnitus, she decided to open a hearing center so that those with tinnitus could have a place to go for help managing their symptoms. After studying with some of the leading names in tinnitus research, she is ready to share her personal and professional experience with you.

Tinnitus Treatment

More than 50 million Americans are reported to suffer from occasional tinnitus, according to the American Tinnitus Association. Due to the unique nature of every individual's tinnitus symptoms, an in-depth assessment helps us to develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient we see.

Even though there is currently no cure for tinnitus, we have the expertise and experience to provide therapy techniques that can reduce the effect of the persistent sound. Not only does she specialize in tinnitus, Dr. Dyson has suffered from tinnitus for over 40 years, so she can speak about the effectiveness of these treatments from personal experience.

Hyperacusis & Recruitment
Hyperacusis & Recruitment

Do you have trouble handling the seemingly mundane sounds of everyday life? Hyperacusis is a hypersensitivity to sounds others would consider normal. This may have a notable effect on many aspects of life and can take a toll on occupational, social and personal life. Activities like driving a car or eating out can sometimes seem unbearable. The same can be said for recruitment, an abnormal growth of sound loudness. A sneeze, for instance, may evoke a reaction similar to being sucker punched.

Regardless of the sound sensitivity disorder, we understand your condition and are ready to help you. While there is presently no way to eliminate these conditions, we offer a range of therapies to enhance the quality of life by reducing the negative associations with the disorder, which consequently decreases the impact of the sounds. Following treatment, many patients go back to enjoying restaurants, musical performances and social gatherings.

Untreated hearing loss can lead to a host of debilitating conditions, including depression, dementia and Alzheimer’s. It may impact earning capacity as well as cause an increase in falling and motor vehicle accidents.

For almost three decades, Dr. Dyson has helped people retake control of their lives through better hearing. She helps individuals understand speech better using advanced hearing technology, resulting in improved relationships with family members, coworkers and friends.

At Suncoast Audiology, we hear you, we understand you, and we are ready to give you the help you need!

Dr. Dyson specializes in the treatment of sound sensitivity disorders, including tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia, and recruitment. She is acutely aware of the profound effect these conditions can have on everyday life.

Most audiologists and hearing instrument specialists charge higher prices for hearing aids, which "bundles" the cost of future appointments into the price of the devices. With this model, most patients end up paying for services they don’t need. At our hearing center Suncoast Audiology, we do things differently. We operate a fee-for-service practice, so you won’t pay a cent more than necessary.

We’re also proud to accept most major credit cards, as well as Care Credit.
